"Switzerland is my home now. Really?"

Living Cultures Workshop

A Workshop for International People:
Newcomers and settled expatriates

Our participants came from France, Ireland, Great Britain, Spain, Israel, Italy, Switzerland, South Africa, Jordan, Mexico, Peru, Germany, Austria, Hong Kong, U.S.A. Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Brazil, Russia, Belgium, Netherlands and more.  You are welcome too!

Moving to another country exposes you to new cultures, new customs, new rules, a new environment, and new people. Many things are different than what you were used to where you lived before. How do you help yourself cope with this change and learn to benefit from these new experiences? Learn how by participating in this workshop with other women who are having similar experiences during the various stages of settling into and living in a new country.

Our Living Cultures workshop groups are small (usually 10-15 participants), comprised of women from many different cultures, and have been carefully designed to enhance your cross-cultural knowledge, understanding, and competence.  The workshop atmosphere is both friendly and fun as well as caring and supportive.  Each group creates its own dynamics according to participants' goals, needs, and involvement.  Many past participants have found the Living Cultures workshop to be a source of lasting friendships!
Participants in our workshop will:
  • Learn that cross-cultural adaptation is a process which takes time, and involves many
  • factors (cultural, social, personal, and communication)
  • Acquire knowledge and tools for living in another culture
  • Develop a cross-cultural network of acquaintances
  • Begin to identify and plan for ways to continue to develop personally from this cross
  • cultural living experience
